Arequipa; World Heritage Site

THE PHOTO

This is my second-to-the -last post on Peru.  I have felt it necessary to share the wonderful and not-so-wonderful experiences I lived in this fascinating country or, at the very least, provide  my readers with images you can maybe use some day to illustrate a story.

Arequipa is a beautiful city and well deserves its designation as a World Heritage Site. Unfortunately it is not a walking city though it is meant to be.  The reason is that, lovely as many or most  Peruvians are, they totally disregard traffic rules and you have to cross a street with trepidation and also no one enforces car emission rules so you are walking often in dense smog. That is not so say that you should skip this places but you do have to be aware.

I am just putting up a lot of images of the gorgeous architecture. All photos by Pedro Luis de Aguinaga
